Experience and Other Skills Required

Five years of related secondary education teaching and/or administration experience or five years of experience managing similar student-centered programming.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of college preparatory education.

Knowledge of science, technology engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.

Ability to supervise and delegate staff responsibilities as they apply to a multi-function office environment (e.g., reporting, planning, fiscal oversight, day-to-day needs).

Ability to interact at all levels with individuals in universities, high and middle schools, and the greater community; must be able to work with first generation and underrepresented parents.

Description of Job Duties

1. Oversee PREP centers operating in San Antonio and those operating throughout Texas.

2. Responsible for determining funding allocations to all PREP centers, providing managerial and operational direction, holding the centers accountable for achievement of goals, evaluating them, and concurring in the appointment of center director.

3. Provide overall administrative and planning responsibilities, as well as responsibility for entering into appropriate partnerships with schools, universities, colleges, businesses and other organizations to achieve the mission of the program.

4. Monitor program sites, program faculty, evaluate the programs, support curriculum development, prepare required reports, and supervise staff.

5. Coordinate PREP fundraising and proposal writing for PREP Development.

6. Possesses a solid understanding of the organization’s finances and is a prudent steward.

7. Promotes the mission of the Institute and PREP in an active advocacy role.

8. Perform other duties as assigned.
