-Must have three years of skilled/journeyman level experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic.

-Must know how to use the tools and equipment common to refrigeration mechanics.

-Must have a successful Criminal Background Check (CBC).

Description of Job Duties

Typical:

1. Overhaul and services refrigeration units by repairing, replacing or adjusting work or broken parts on condensers, compressors, water, and vacuum pumps; adds gas to refrigeration units; repairs or adjusts valves, piping connections, fittings, and couplings; adjusts expansion valves; removes/installs motors, thermostats, and humidistats; and test for refrigerant leaks.

2. Checks gauges and makes inspection for preventive maintenance; assists in evaluating equipment for deferred maintenance and new project installation of refrigeration equipment.

3. Maintains records and prepares reports on repairs and services.

4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Periodic:
1. Assist in training staff in the maintenance of refrigeration and related equipment.
