Description of Job Duties

The Department of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for a tenure-track Associate Professor position in manufacturing to be filled by August 2018. Expectations for this position include: (1) developing strong externally-funded and internationally recognized research programs; (2) creating a new vision for the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Lean Systems; (3) supervising graduate students; (4) teaching graduate classes related to manufacturing and undergraduate classes in mechanical engineering; (5) working with others in transdisciplinary areas; (6) reaching out to industry and community to build partnerships.

Qualified candidate(s) may also serve as the Director of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Lean Systems (CAMLS) (http://camls.utsa.edu/) and will be provided laboratory space and equipment in the Manufacturing Systems and Automation (MSA) laboratory.
